GreenEnergy Solutions and CENECO Talisay with Ayala homeowners during the implementation of the First Net-Metered Home in Talisay City

The On-Grid Solar PV System was installed on the roof of a residential home in Ayala North Point, Talisay City. This system utilizes the power of the sun to produce electricity, using photovoltaic cells, during daylight hours. Excess energy will be fed, and sold to Ceneco during the day via net metering. During the night, the grid-tied solar system will use the electricity from the Ceneco grid, and seamlessly switches between the two power sources, without bothering the user. This system eliminates the need for batteries, for storage, which makes these systems much more cost effective.
When asked why the Ayala homeowner opted to use the Solar PV System, she said, “We use solar energy for our home in Japan and it has really reduced our electricity charges. Then, I noticed that whenever I am in the Philippines, I incur high electricity costs as we turn on the air-condition system all day and use most of our appliances. So, I wanted my home in Talisay to be powered by solar to benefit from the technology.”
